Last week got me thinking about my grandma, about the women who got to live in the age when ladies took real care of their looks. The age in which we were not really allowed to grow in other senses (I am of course not saying this was better –at all- I adore my job and would hate having to play wifey as an obligation, but I guess we can look at the bright side and at least admire how these women looked, styled and worked their attitude from the very first moment they woke up.
The ladies of the mid last century, were very into being lady-like, they explored their fashion identity to the fullest and appreciated it as an art among them. I do this now, too, but since we have also explored being modern-like, workers-like, professionals-like, and better-than-men-like, now we have some other concerns aside from the usuals.
I LOVE being able not only to feel the aesthetics but to work with them and within the industry itself. But having as one of your obligations to look this good, must have been a real pleasure. Maybe we could also learn from this pleasure, especially when in this time has been proven the importance of feeling good about oneself. I found these pictures for you, and for me: they make me feel so inspired, because so are they, you can see it in their faces right? They look so superb and proud of themselves, showing their profession to the world, the profession of being and feeling the maximum manifestation a woman –in such times-.
But well, I guess now we can have more fun ? ?
